Ohio’s Commitment to STEM Excellence

[[{“value”:”

Across Ohio, schools continue to raise the bar for what high-quality STEM education looks like and the impact it can have on students, communities, and the future workforce.

Ohio’s STEM School Designation is more than a title. It recognizes schools that provide authentic, interdisciplinary, and personalized learning experiences that connect rigorous academics to real-world applications and STEM careers. These schools foster cultures of inquiry, collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking, all critical skills for today’s learners.

To learn more about the designation process and what it means to become or remain a STEM-designated school, visit our STEM designation webpage.

Strong partnerships, real-world learning

Designated STEM schools also prioritize strong partnerships with business, higher education, and community organizations. Through these connections, students gain access to mentorship, career exploration, and meaningful, career-connected learning experiences. The designation is awarded by the Ohio STEM Committee, with support from the Ohio STEM Learning Network, and must be renewed every five years to ensure continued excellence.

Celebrating 2025-2026 redesignated STEM schools

This year, we are proud to recognize sixteen outstanding schools that have successfully renewed their STEM designation for an additional five years. Approved by the Ohio STEM Committee, this achievement reflects a sustained commitment to high-quality STEM teaching and learning.
