The Future is Bright: Get Ready for DNA Day 2026

STEM Next is proud to partner with global genomics leader Illumina on the “Future is Bright” campaign to bring the power and wonder of DNA science to young people nationwide. This campaign, alongside our year-round learning resources, helps young people across America discover that innovation is truly in their DNA—and that breakthroughs in health, agriculture, and beyond all connect back to the power of genomics.
DNA Day on April 25 is an exciting time to celebrate the power of DNA science and the career opportunities it offers. To celebrate, we have curated ready-to-use activities and free resources to get youth excited about DNA science.
Resources available to educators include:
- DNA Necklace Activity Kits: Grab kits for your program while supplies last!
- Virtual training: join STEM Next and Illumina on April 16 for a free prep webinar that walks through both the DNA kit and other DNA lessons and activities you can implement with young people year-round.
- Genomics Learning Journeys
- Virtual Field Trips from our partners at Discovery Education
- Illumina Career Profiles
Programs that celebrate DNA Day with young people using these resources between now and DNA Day on April 25th and tell us their stories by May 15 are eligible to win $50 Visa gift cards.
