Empowering students to make informed careers decisions

“Everyone, everywhere, should have an equal opportunity to succeed in science,” says Christopher Burnett, Digital Content Specialist for LabXchange. This is why LabXchange has created an interactive online platform that allows students to explore careers in STEM. “We want every student to know that there is a place in science for them. Too many learners are exposed only to traditional career paths in science, and if they feel that they do not fit neatly into one of these roles, they abandon a future in science altogether. We want to empower students to make fully informed decisions about their futures!”

Elsewhere in this issue, researchers from a wide range of STEM and SHAPE fields share the highlights of working in their respective roles, exposing young people to the huge variety of career opportunities available to them. Would you like to find fossils as a palaeontologist or look at lakes as a limnologist? Have you ever considered a career in human rights law or haematology? Read on to learn about all these opportunities and more!
