Held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on June 9, this year’s Summit welcomed more than 500 members of Ohio’s STEM education community for a day of learning, collaboration, celebration, and inspiration. From classroom teachers sharing innovative practices to statewide leaders championing opportunities for students, the event showcased the collective impact of people working together to create meaningful learning experiences.
The 2026 Ohio STEM Innovation Summit brought together educators, school leaders, business partners, and advocates from across the state to explore a powerful idea: when we unlock possibility for students, we unlock possibility for Ohio’s future.
Ohio STEM Learning Network Director Dr. Sandra Wilder welcomed attendees and reflected on the power of a community committed to helping students discover what is possible. Keynote speaker Dr. Jorge Valenzuela challenged educators to think boldly about innovation, leadership, and the human side of learning, reminding participants that meaningful change happens when purpose, relationships, and opportunity come together. His message aligned perfectly with this year’s theme, Unlocking Possibility, and set the tone for a day filled with inspiration and action.
The theme, Unlocking Possibility, could be felt in every corner of the event.
It was present in conversations between educators discovering new approaches to teaching and learning. It was reflected in sessions highlighting authentic problem-solving, career-connected learning, and classroom innovation. It was celebrated through the recognition of schools, educators, and partners whose efforts continue to expand opportunities for students across Ohio.
Perhaps most importantly, it was visible in the spirit of the Summit itself: a growing community committed to helping every learner find pathways to success.

Celebrating a community of innovators
