Lake Como Trip
[[{“value”:”
Ciao Raggazi
My Italian is definitely improving because of my studies and boldly talking to locals. This weekend, I took a day trip to Lake Como, and I started off the trip by missing 3 trains :/. Honestly, Milan Centrale is so busy that it made it difficult for me, as a foreigner, to understand what was going on. Luckily, our tickets were valid for 4 hours, so we were able to catch the next train. Once I got to Como, I met up with my host mom’s previous student, whom I had been introduced to during dinner the weekend before.

When we arrived at Lake Como, I went to a local street market and visited the Como Cathedral. The pictures speak for themselves; the building is beautiful. I was impressed by the effort put into the architecture; there is so much attention to detail.

As a Chicagoan, I handle cold weather pretty well, but as the weather has been getting colder and colder, I have not been liking it. So, after visiting the cathedral, I went to a boutique to buy some gloves and a hat. While there, I ended up having a really deep conversation with the sales lady. It was definitely insightful, as we both carried very broad and diverse perspectives about the world.

After leaving Lake Como, my friend and I visited a small city called Monza. We ate at a local restaurant that our host mom recommended. The small town was definitely nice, and the food we ate was good!
Thanks for joining me!
Ciao Ciao!!!
