2 Weeks Left
[[{“value”:”
Can you believe that it’s already December?! Time really does go by fast when you’re abroad. But the last month of the year means two things for me: one, my birthday, and two, I’ll be catching a flight back home soon. I cannot wait to reunite and see my family and friends again. They, too, have been counting the days for my return. But before I leave, I do have some trips coming up that I am excited about and looking forward to! I leave for Paris this weekend to meet up with another Hope student, and my final trip will be to Istanbul with my friends as we wrap up our semester here.
I still remember my first day here. It was difficult navigating how to figure out how to make it to my host family, especially because I had a later flight time arrival. It was such a unique experience and feeling once I arrived, and now, a few months later, I am leaving to head back home.
As I reflect on my time here in Athens, I have come to learn so much about myself. I’ve noticed personal growth from the moment I first got here to now. The first few months here, I was scared of doing things alone. I kept to myself and isolated myself from the rest of the group for a while. However, I learned to navigate being surrounded by a completely new community of people, and thanks to the community, I’ve had opportunities to travel around Europe and the Greek Islands. Now that I think about it, I wish I had taken advantage of traveling solo during my free weekends!
While I loved my time in Athens, I am so excited to go home. I’ve missed driving my car and being in close proximity to campus.
Here are pictures of my trip to Paris with Naeza from this past weekend. Also, here are pictures of my island trip with my friends.

This is my last blog of the semester!! If you have read all my blogs from start to finish, I just want to thank you :)). It has been such a fun experience writing for you guys and updating you on my journey abroad. While you go through so many emotions while abroad, enjoy every moment, and don’t isolate yourself. Do things on your own if you can, because your time abroad is limited. Take advantage of the resources you have as a university student because there are so many discounts and free entries to museums and sites. My ICOMOS card got me into the Louvre for free, and I was able to skip the line!
